Brad Scott is a higher-education faculty member and researcher who has dedicated his career to teaching, mentoring students, and strengthening educational communities.

Professional & Community Service

Dr. Brad Scott believes strong schools depend on strong community partnerships.

He also serves on the Ciao Hickory nonprofit board, where he volunteers his time helping support local cultural events and community programs. Brad believes that being involved, showing up, and working alongside neighbors is an important part of public service.

As part of his current elected board service, Dr. Scott also serves on the Career & Technical Education (CTE) advisory committee for Newton-Conover City Schools district. In that role, he works with educators and community leaders to strengthen workforce pathways, support advanced technical training, and advocate for funding that helps students gain real-world job skills.

Leadership & Budget Experience

Before working in higher education, Dr. Scott held leadership roles in international businesses, managing teams of hundreds, and overseeing budgets of more than $30 million annually. This experience gives him a strong understanding of budgeting, accountability, and efficiency — skills that matter for responsible public education.
